Socio-economic development of the Great Andamanese and their Conservation

The Great Andamanese tribals are the aboriginal inhabitants of the Great Andaman archipelago in the Andaman Islands. The population of Great Andamanese tribe is declining for unknown reasons.  They have been rehabilitated in a small island presently on the Strait Island by the Andaman and Nicobar Administration. Strait Island is an islet with area 1.5 sq. km and 35 N. miles from Port Blair of the east coast of Middle Andaman.
